What we collect

Your email and, if you provide one, your name. Anything you add to your profile, background, target role, skills, is self-declared and used only to personalize your Drils. Your Current Level for a skill is different: it’s assessed by us directly from your own completed Skill Drils. When you take a live session, we capture the transcript and, if your camera is on, a video/audio recording. For a Job Dril an enterprise invited you to, or personally invited you to, the full recording is uploaded too, with your consent, and shared with the employer who posted that role. Every other kind of session, a self-served Job Dril, a Mock Dril, or a Skill Dril you start yourself, keeps the full recording only in your own browser, uploading nothing. For a Skill Dril an employer asked you to take, two 5-second clips from random moments of the session are uploaded instead, with your consent, so employers can confirm it was you who took it.

How we use it

To run your session, score what you actually answered against the role’s requirements, and show you the evidence behind that score. Your spoken answers are sent as audio to our speech-to-text providers (currently Deepgram, with Groq as a backup) to be transcribed, and the interviewer’s voice is generated by OpenAI. Transcript text is sent to our AI providers (currently Google Gemini and OpenAI) to generate scores and follow-up questions. These providers process your data to return a result to us, not to train on it for their own purposes.

When an enterprise runs AI Matching on a posting, your profile, the same self-declared background and skills above, is sent to the same AI providers to be scored against that posting’s job description, so the enterprise can see how you compare to other candidates. This can happen before you’ve self-served, been invited, or taken a Dril for that specific role.

Website analytics

If you accept cookies on our banner, we use Google Analytics 4 on aidril.com and enterprise.aidril.com to measure page visits and how people find us. It collects usage data such as pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location, never your name, email, interview answers, or recordings. Advertising features are off. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice any time on our Cookies page.

Who can see a recording

Your full session recording, for a self-served Job Dril, a Mock Dril, or a Skill Dril you start yourself, is held in your own browser and never uploaded. You can delete it any time in Settings → Data & recordings. For a Job Dril an enterprise invited you to, or personally invited you to, your full recording is uploaded too, visible only to that one enterprise, for the retention window described below.

A Skill Dril an employer asked you to take uploads two 5-second identity clips instead, only after you agree to that before the session starts. A Job Dril’s recording, if it was uploaded, is shared with the one enterprise that posted that role, along with its transcript and scores. A requested Skill Dril’s clips are shown next to that skill’s verified level to enterprises you’re already connected with: ones you’ve done a Job Dril for, or whose workspace you’re in. Never a third party, and never anyone else.

How long we keep it

A Job Dril’s uploaded recording (if any), transcript, and scores are deleted 90 days after the session, unless the enterprise saved that Dril Card first, in which case they stay. A requested Skill Dril’s identity clips are also deleted 90 days after the session; its scores stay, since they make up your verified skill level. This runs automatically, checked daily, not a manual cleanup someone has to remember to run.

Deleting your data

Account deletion (Settings → Danger zone) is instant and permanent. It removes your account, every session, every score, and every recording immediately, with no recovery window, a genuine, full deletion.
